These Terms of Use govern access to GuardGuides.com and purchases made through the GuardGuides store. By using the website or placing an order, you agree to these terms.
Educational and informational purpose
GuardGuides provides educational resources, templates, tools, commentary, and career information for security professionals. GuardGuides is not a government agency, licensing authority, law firm, employer, certification body, or accredited training school unless a specific product expressly states otherwise.
No guarantee of outcomes
Purchasing or using a GuardGuides product does not guarantee employment, licensing, certification, exam passage, government approval, business success, higher pay, contract awards, or any other result. Laws, regulations, agency procedures, exam content, job requirements, wages, and industry practices can change. Users are responsible for confirming current requirements with the appropriate official agency, employer, school, attorney, accountant, or other qualified professional.
Digital-product license
Unless a product listing expressly says otherwise, a purchase grants the buyer a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for the buyer’s own personal or internal business use. Products may not be resold, redistributed, posted publicly, shared through file-sharing services, repackaged, sublicensed, or used to create a competing product.
Editable templates may be customized for the purchaser’s own use. The underlying template, design, instructions, and GuardGuides content remain protected intellectual property.
Orders and delivery
Orders are subject to payment approval and fraud screening. Digital download access is normally provided after successful payment. Customers are responsible for entering a working email address and maintaining access to the device or account used to receive the purchase.
Prices and product changes
Prices, product contents, availability, descriptions, and promotions may change without notice. A later update, replacement, discount, bundle, or price change does not create a right to a refund or price adjustment for an earlier purchase.
Refunds
Digital purchases are governed by the Digital Product Refund Policy. Purchases completed on Etsy or another external platform are also subject to that platform’s checkout, dispute, and refund processes.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, scrape protected customer downloads, bypass purchase controls, submit fraudulent payment information, upload harmful code, or use GuardGuides materials unlawfully.
Third-party services and links
The site may link to Etsy, YouTube, Reddit, Stripe, government agencies, employers, and other third parties. GuardGuides does not control or endorse every statement, policy, product, job listing, or service appearing on an external website.
Limitation of responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GuardGuides is not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of the website or products. GuardGuides’ total responsibility for a claim concerning a purchased product will not exceed the amount paid directly to GuardGuides for that product, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
